Today was probably the last snowboarding outing during the Holiday break. Alisa, Darci, and I went up on Tuesday, but then we got all excited to get the whole Duncan family snowboarding, so we suggested the idea to the Duncan parents and it was a go! Dad Duncan was going to snowboard also, but then realized that due to his wrist surgery, he shouldn't fall on the wrist or lift more then 5 lbs... needless to say, snowboarding was out for him. We got up bloody early today and was out of the house before 7am which is a near miracle for us. :) It was one of those days that was sunny in Denver and a snowstorm in the mountains - I love it! Mom, Jacob, TJ, and Darci took lessons, while Alisa and I tore up some runs. Alisa decided to chill in the lodge with Dad while I took the bus over to Loveland Basin and flew down several runs, that were, well, wonderfully steep, snowing, and opportunistic for tree boarding.
After the Duncan finished their lessons, Alisa and I went up to lift to play a bit before we had to leave (we had to back in Denver by 5ish). Mom was by her admission, not a natural, but was getting the feel of the board and could get down the hill. This was Darci's second time and was progressing nicely being to use her front and back edge. TJ picked up the sport quickly and by the end of the day was flying down the hill. Jacob was definitely getting the hang of snowboarding, but started to feel sick by the end of the day. As a cool down to the day we played the Wii Fit - Super Hula Hoop is by far the most exhausting game using the board. And, since we burned some calories today, we finished off January 2nd with Chocolate and Carmel Fondues :)
