From Chris:
No contractions yets. This child clearly didn't get the memo that he's due date was the 24th of June.
Ben & Tami, Dave & Bethany, Miah & Dori, Jeni, and an army of children descended on The Property for dinner. We had ribs, steak, and a hearty amount of tasty side dishes; with a watermelon to complete the feast. After dinner the girls chatted and the guys took a walk down Daisy (a road that leads to the river). For dessert, we all sang 'Happy Birthday' to Ali and Tami (Tami's birthday is on the 4th), and had Pete's Delight (brownies, strawberries, strawberry ice cream, and chocolate syrup). We stayed up visiting for a while, and then Ali and I did a couple of reps walking the steep driveway to try and put her into labor. We finally turned in around 1:30am. Tomorrow is the Corvallis run/walk, so if Ali is still holding the baby in, we'll walk it together (she didn't think the idea of running in her condition was the brightest... sigh.... pregnant women :) ).
From Ali: When I woke up Chris had put a fresh vase of daisies next to the bed. :) daisies and sun flowers are my favorite flowers and the daisies have been blooming all along the road up and down the hill. It was so sweet! later that night we looked at the b-day posters from the Beach's, Welchlin's and Peterson's then we tried once more to start labor by walking up and down the driveway. I have to say though, I didn't try too hard counting on the 5K the next day in Corvallis to get the job done.
:) mom "practiced" taking pictures with her camera so she would be ready when the baby comes.
